Stradbroke is a thriving village community with a wide variety of sporting facilities available to both young and old.

With an active community centre we have facilities for Football, Swimming, Tennis, Cricket, Bowls and many other sporting pursuits. Despite having excellent facilities, there was no youth football in the village and parents and young people had to travel to neighbouring towns to find the opportunity to play. In January 2010 this changed and with the enthusiasm of a few volunteers Stradbroke Youth FC was set up for young persons from within and around Stradbroke, to have the opportunity on their doorstep for playing England's most popular sport.

Stradbroke Youth FC rapidly grew and by the summer of 2011 over 50 youngsters from 6 to 16 were taking part in the club. In September of the same year we were able to enter 2 teams into the Ipswich and Suffolk Youth League - an Under 10s (primary school class 6) and an U13s (secondary school classes 7 & 8). In subsequent years these teams progressed and new teams introduced at the lower age group such that we now have 4 groups - not a bad start from such humble beginnings.
