Stradbroke's first triathlon on Sunday 17th May was a huge success with 125 participants, many from the village. The event was oraganised by Stradbroke Swim  & Fitness Centre in partnership with Active Outdoor Sport. The event started with a 160m swim followed by a 17Km cycle ride finishing with a 3Km run around the playing field and adjacent oil-seed rape field.

This community based Triathlon saw athletes from the local area take part and for many it was their first triathlon. Plans are already afoot for next year to make the event even bigger and better. Callum Towler, Fitness Manager at Stradbroke Swim and Fitness Centre, would like to pass his thanks on to all of those from the local community who turned out on the day to either participant, support or kindly give their time to volunteer and make the event such a success.
