Long summer days in the garden are again on the agenda for most of us. This means rubbish to dispose of and a bonfire is often the way to do it. If you do plan to have a garden fire or use an incinerator please do show consideration for your neighbours;try to site the fire as far away from others as possible and check the wind direction before lighting up and during the life of the fire.

Please do not build a fire so large that it cannot be extinguished easily. If bonfires happen frequently they can be considered a nuisance and an abatement notice issued; . failure to comply with that can result in a fine of up to £5,000. If possible take your garden rubbish to the Waste Disposal Site or sign up for Mid Suffolk's garden waste collection service (brown bin scheme).
