carol-smyAt June's Parish Council meeting Carol Smy, our Clerk for many years, tendered her resignation. Following a difficult year for the Council Carol had hoped that after the elections matters would improve but seemingly not. Carol cited the "poisonous atmosphere" that now engulfs the Council as one of the main reasons for her deciding to leave. Carol has served the Council for nine years and worked for 3 different chairmen during the period. The current and previous chairmen have both expressed their gratitude for Carol's support and friendship and their sadness at her decision. The Council will be advertising the vacancy immediately but Carol will be missed and difficult to replace. I'm sure we all wish her well for the future and no doubt the PC will show it's gratitude for the contribution she has made to our village.
