green-bt-fibre-street-cabinet BT Openreach has now activated the new cabinet in Queen Street  and some Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are now accepting orders but not all at this stage

Before rushing to your exisitng supplier and asking for an upgrade do check what is on offer from other suppliers and what deals your current supplier may be offering to new customers.

If you're not under contract or only have a short period until the end of the contract it can be worth waiting and then starting to haggle (Martin Lewis has some good advice). Some companies don't make it easy to contact them, most would prefer it if you just did everything online but you won't necessarily get the best deal (BT's "best deals" number is: 0800 0234427). You may also find that the prices advertised are not actually applicable in our area so do check the detail before committing to a new contract.

Not everyone in the village will be able to get Superfast, the Suffolk County Council "coverage checker" maps are worth looking before you start. Once you settle on your prefered ISP they will test your line and advise what is the maximum and minimum speed you can get. Superfast is defined as being 24Mbps or greater and from what SCC told us (see previous article) not everyone will get Superfast speeds. If you are offered a service at less than 24Mbps please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so we can inform SCC and try to get a better deal for Stradbroke in the longer term.
