Stradbroke has thirteen Parish Councillors and they are formally elected for four years at a time with the last  elections held in May 2015. A Chairman and Vice-Chairman are chosen by ballot from the elected representatives and the other coucillors are allocated to various working parties and committees.

Whenever a vacancy arises between elections, that vacancy is advertised in the Magazine, on the Parish Notice Board and online asking for Stradbroke residents to offer their services. New Councillors are co-opted by secret ballot among the existing members and are then sworn in. Administrative matters are dealt with by the Council Clerk.

All communications to the Parish Council should be sent to the Clerk. Council meetings are held in the Webb Room at the Community Centre, normally on the second Monday of the Month at 7:30 pm although sometimes there is no meeting in August. Members of the public are invited to attend and a period of ten minutes at the beginning is allocated so that they can address the Council on matters which concern them. After that, members of the public may not speak.

Minutes of the meetings are held in the Library and are now posted on the Notice Board and published online
