On Saturday 6th April Stradbroke WI, Suffolk,held a charity lunch in aid of “The Blossom Appeal”, which aims to provide a bespoke breast cancer centre at Ipswich Hospital.
The lunch offered soup, bread, cake and tea or coffee and was supported wholeheartedly by residents who made a social occasion of it whilst enjoying the home made produce generously produced by our WI members. The event included lunch, a raffle and a massive Tombola. In the space of a few indulgent hours the Stradbroke WI raised an incredible £1,106 towards the new cancer unit. When the cheque was finally handed over to the representative of the Charity organiser, he had a “double take” on the amount and not surprisingly was most appreciative.
Well done to the Stradbroke WI.
