Have you been into All Saints Church recently? Are you aware of the poor condition our church building is in?
Without urgent action the damage will be permanent and parts of the church will be too dangerous to use.
Historic England has placed our church on their “Heritage At Risk” register following their concern.

All Saints Church is a beautiful, historic and important building in the centre of our village that needs everyone’s help.  Over the years, many village fund-raising events and generous donations have raised thousands of pounds to tackle immediate repairs but these are only sticking plaster remedies.  We now need a major, long term project to replace and repair:

In Summary

Flints and brickwork are crumbling away
The roof leaks and rain pours in
Windows bowing and in danger of falling out completely
Large cracks, and peeling plaster on the inside walls
Large areas of damp
Pews and floors rotting away
Dangling and perished drains and guttering

Saving All Saints has applied for and been successful in gaining grants of £5000 from the Ganzoni Trust and £8978 from the Taylor Review Project – part of English Heritage. This money is for the most urgent of immediate repairs to guttering to help prevent further damage due to water leaking into the building.

Now for the big one!  We have passed the first stage of applying for a new Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and have been have invited to put forward a full application for £350,000. If we are successful, the future of the church will be secured.

The application hinges on a full Community Engagement Project based on our heritage, with the church at the hub of events and activities and putting Stradbroke firmly on the tourist map.  We have an exciting project planned and welcome YOU to become involved at every step of our progress.
