Tom Hanks plays Mister Rogers, the beloved children’s television host who comes to the aid of a suffering magazine writer, Lloyd Vogel. Vogel is assigned to profile Rogers but is deeply sceptical about him refusing to believe anyone could be so good-natured. However, Rogers’s empathy and decency soon help Vogel become reconciled with his own painful past.
An uplifting film full of hope. Subtle and sincere this film could have been a melodramatic tear-jerker but is, in fact, a deeply moving and powerful film about friendship and forgiveness.
