Matt Damon is in his element starring as unemployed roughneck, Bill Baker, who travels from Oklahoma to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter Allison. She is imprisoned there for a murder she claims she did not commit and she has seized on a new tip that could exonerate her but needs a good legal team. Bill is eager to show he has changed and decides to take matters in his own hands regardless of language, cultural and legal barriers. This is a classic Hollywood film: big stars, intriguing characters, a glamorous setting and a juicy set-up. Matt Damon shines out in one of his best performances.
