Learn – Classic Cinema Matinee
February 12, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Our final film of our Winter season of classic films is “Akenfield”. This beautiful 1974 film of Ronald Blythe’s book captures a picture of rural Suffolk in 1969. The book is a close documentary of a supposedly fictional village although, in fact, the details are from Charsfield and Parham and featuring many local people talking about their lives. 50 years on, it is a fascinating glimpse into how Suffolk village life has changed but also stayed the same in many ways.
The performance will be on Wednesday, February 12th at 2.00pm at Stradbroke Community Centre with a short introduction to the film and finishing with refreshments. The cost will be £6.50 including tea and cakes.
